Waiting 02:35
A situation both distant and dire A generation that'll never retire Educated and enslaved in debt Need four roommates to pay the fucking rent Hedge your bets with Heaven Escape your debts in death Bleed yourself dry of time to spend On waiting tables or waiting for this to end Media to sedate and distract Image of self to keep intact Sense of security that we all seek Full availability for 20 hours a week Hedge your bets with Heaven Escape your debts in death Bleed yourself dry of time to spend On waiting tables or waiting for this to end I'll wait for the end I'll wait for the end

Each day you spend in that room starin’ at a screen Fillin’ up your mind with images that mean nothing Work scrubbing dishes just to pay your rent and eat But you know that it’s inane ‘cause you’ve given up your dreams You’ve never changed your ways, You’re still stuck at the beginning You’ve never given life a second thought Today is just another one of the many I think it’s time you start Day to day expenses consist of beer and gasoline You barely tread the ground you’ll soon be underneath Won't ever change your ways, You’re still livin’ in the past Too hard to give life that second thought Today could be the best part I think it’s time you start You're an average tragedy, not you're not rare you could have been anything that you dared

With all the time that we spent together, Like brothers with separate last names Through all of life’s tabulations, I was there to share in your pains Now it seems everything’s changing, And much too often I’m far away As if this were and ending, I started wondering who was to blame It wasn’t you who, It wasn’t you who left us this way It wasn’t you who, Does that mean it was me? Well it seems you got hooked on the bottle, 22 I guess I’ll do the same While I still lack the solution, it might feel better if I say It wasn’t you who, It wasn’t you who left us this way It wasn’t you who, Does that mean it was me? It wasn’t you who, It wasn’t you who left us this way It wasn’t you who, Does that mean it was me, No! It wasn’t you who, It wasn’t you who left us this way It wasn’t you who, Does that mean it was me? It wasn’t you who, It wasn’t you who left us this way It wasn’t you who, Does that mean it was me?

I know I said I'd always be there That all you ever need is call but you made a hobby of being a nightmare Dragging the rest of us down as you fall I really need you to leave me alone I mean it this time when this call is over I'll hang up the phone and I won't call you back so don't call back It isn't like you're a weekend warrior Blacking out on a Monday night Should I have sent you a courier to ensure that you heard me right I really need you to leave me alone I mean it this time when this call is over I'll hang up the phone and I won't call you back so don't call back You might be the world's worst confidant sold those words to have something to say to nobody in-particular vent your frustrations away away away I really need you to leave me alone I mean it this time this call is over

What am I sposed to do Is it what you would do With all that you pursue why do you follow through Is there a place im sposed to be Is this where Im sposed to be Do I believe in destiny or some fucker controlling me I don’t think you know, & I don’t really care because I live the way I want as often as I can There isn’t a dream worth sleepin in No Oz or Wonderland awaiting me Here is the only place that I’d want to be Is there something you can see Is it something that I should see Do you believe that it’s the key to finally enlighten me What am I tryin to say Is it something I should say Will I turn old and grey wishin that I had lived your way I don’t think you know, & I don’t really care because I live the way I want as often as I can There isn’t a dream worth sleepin in No Oz or Wonderland awaiting me Here is the only place that I’d want to be

I heard you were home the other day You ignored my call I left a voicemail anyway A lost connection A void to fill A fading friendship A dying will To pretend that you care still Met you at Joe’s this Friday last Once more I forgave What you’ve done in the past Fake a smile, Check your phone Bored to tears, I should’ve known You’d rather be left alone Thanks for coming out You said you would but I I had my doubts You say that it’s been it’s fun Even though I know you had none So Thanks for coming out I heard you were home the other day You ignored my call, I left a voicemail anyway A lost Connection, A void to fill A fading friendship, A dying Will To pretend that you care still

An annual wreckage in my head Holidays now spent in bed Recounting how some scars once bled Unlike knowing that you're dead We all knew it'd come to this It's so God damn predictable Savor the momentary Bliss Slow onset of loneliness There's nothing more detestable than one more face I'll have to miss A timeless series I won't forget every actor and soubrette Who ever graced the stage and let Me learn from my regret We all knew it'd come to this It's so God damn predictable Savor the momentary Bliss Slow onset of loneliness There's nothing more detestable than one more face I'll have to miss When everything's said and done I'm the one on the run From all my ghosts of New Year's past A little longer in the Sun Never hurt anyone A cadaver rests in his birthplace Will I forget his face Will I forget his face We all knew it'd come to this It's so God damn predictable Savor the momentary Bliss No more time to make amends We suffer loss' consequences one more face I'll have to miss One more face I'll have to miss

about

This is the first installment of what is aimed to be the first full album, which will be the culmination of what our late teens and early twenties were like. Lot's of angst, drinking, and selective nostalgia filtered through punk beats, acoustic chords, and melodies that we've probably heard somewhere before.

credits

released March 30, 2018

Rhythm guitar/backing vocals: Greg "The Wheel" Ingraham
Lead guitar/vocals: Dan "Dayo" Haggerty
Lead Bass: Byron Magnum AKA Brian Supple

Everything here was done in the spare bedroom at Dan's house with 4 drum mics, a 5 channel mixer, a 58, an m-audio fasttracker, and a what ever time we each had available.
Mixing, engineering (if you can call it that), and all songs written by Dayo.
